NEW PTLLS STANDARDS INFO - REASSURANCE

OK - City and Guilds have published the new version of PTLLS, please say bye bye to 7303 PTLLS and as of the 1st February 2012 say hello to 6302 PTLLS. 6302 PTLLS is still a level 3 award but now has a credit score of 12 instead of 6, if that means nothing to you come on the course and I will explain it, if it does then you can relax.
As you know under normal circumstances each credit means 10 hours work so my fear was that 6302 PTLLS was going to take twice as long. AND THE GREAT NEWS IS - The new standards are full of could take, may take, adjustments made for, etc in relation to how long it should take to get the award, and looking at the new standards it seems someone took the old ones, mixed them up a bit and published them in a different format. They then added in a couple of optional units from the old Learning and Development suite of units (which I know well), which I don't suppose we will use these as they are for assessing teaching proper in the workplace, but we can if we want to.
The award does look different but my initial view is that it can be delivered in a very similar format with possibly the odd extra bit. Having said that it seems like some bits are no longer in there any more, so who knows.
I will be working very hard over the next few weeks understanding what is required and working out on your behalf the most efficient way of meeting the standards. I will also be redesigning our comprehensive skeleton portfolio to ensure that making one for 6302 is as easy as it has always been. Obviously I will be liaising with my IV and EV to ensure a smooth and hassle free transition for you.
I am now very reassured that we can provide the top drawer service that we demand of ourselves for you in 2012.
