This package is designed to meet the needs of any person who is good at what they do, get promotion, and find themselves in a position where communications and group dynamics can have an effect on their performance in that role.

Overview

Our view is that there is a manual for everything nowadays, except being an adult. No-one explains to us how adults interact, we just pick up life skills as we go along. We are not taught how to be partners, parents, team members and critically supervisors or managers. Adult behaviour is complex but can be boiled down to relatively simple behavioural patterns which empower individuals with that knowledge.

The simple psychologies which will be discussed are very impactive on a personal level, and can be life changing. Delegates will be shown the building blocks to be an effective adult, which, in turn, when applied in the workplace will ensure they adopt an effective management style.

Delegates will have a much greater appreciation of adult behavioural dynamics which will allow them to effectively influence and develop members of their teams and increase productivity.

The whole package is very interactive, discussion based and group work. Delegates will be allowed to learn about themselves, their colleagues at all levels, and will be allowed to establish their own best practice.

The Training

Aim

To explore why individuals and groups act in a predictable way, the importance of effective communications, the dynamics of conflict and managerial best practice.

Objectives

By the end of the session delegates will:-

  2. understand the predictability of behaviour
  3. appreciate group dynamics
  4. understand the dynamics of communication
  5. discuss avoiding and managing conflict
  6. establish managerial best practice

  2. Any supervisors or managers who have been promoted without extensive management training
  3. Supervisors and managers with extensive experience who wish to understand why it works
